For a couple of days in this dismal winter of wind and rain I’ve been able to get out and enjoy the beauty of drifts of snowdrops – one of the first flowers to emerge each year and such a joy after the long months of darkness. They speak of hope, promise, springtime – and to the Christian, of course, they speak also of God; of the new beginnings his love makes possible. That’s the theme of the following short poetic prayer – along the lines of those that you’ll find in Heaven Touching Earth, Touched By His Hand and Touching Down – that I wrote this week in celebration of this floral delight.
