‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help when trouble strikes.’ Words from Psalm 46:1 that have given hope and encouragement to generations across the years. They remind us that, no matter how difficult our situation, however challenging life may seem, God is with us in it – there to hold and to help. That’s a message we neeed to remind ourselves of especially at this troubled time, when countries across the world continue to reel from the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Faith doesn’t guarantee us any exemption from the trials and tragedies this might bring, but it does promise that, whatever we face, God will help us to bear it. That’s the message of the following recording, taken from CD 2 of Expressing our Worship.
