We grow tired of most things, don’t we, familiarity, as the old saying goes, breeding contempt, The following prayer, taken from my book The Animal Lover’s Daily Prayer Book, reminds us that the good news of Christ is, or at least should be, an exception; quite simply, its a message too special to tire of.
Whatever else I grow bored with,
however blasé I become,
may I never tire of you, Lord,
or the message of your love.
Amen.
