Another Celtic-style prayer

Sorry I’ve not managed to post anything this week except for the promotion of The Animal Lovers Daily Prayer Book. After a day being boosted by my steroid treatment, I’ve felt dreadful again today – a continuing reaction, I think, to the very strong antibiotics I’m still taking. There’s just one day of those to go, though, so as long as they’ve done their job, I should start to feel better very soon. Hope so, anyway. In the meantime, here’s a Celtic-style prayer I wrote just before I succumbed to this latest bout of pneumonia.

May your mornings be filled with hope,
your days be filled with joy,
your evenings be filled with contentment,
your nights be filled with tranquillity.
May your heart be driven by compassion,
your thoughts be driven by love,
your deeds be driven by goodness,
your life be driven by honesty.
May your living overflow with laughter,
your loving overflow with sincerity,
your giving overflow with generosity,
your being overflow with vitality.
May your nature be shaped by kindness,
your character be marked by integrity,
your personality be fashioned by openness,
your self be moulded by relationship with others
and, above all, with the one who is before all,
above all,
beyond all
and within all.
So may you become the truest you can be,
the wisest you can be,
the happiest you can be,
the best you can be.
Amen.
