From the book of morning and evening prayers I am currently working on for every day of the year, provisionally titled Still, Still with Thee, here’s a prayer seeking God’s guidance over another day.
Show me your way, Lord,
for I would walk it.
Show me your truth,
for I would grasp it.
Show me your will,
for I would accept it.
Show me your mercy,
for I would receive it.
Show me your guidance,
for I would follow it.
Show me your love,
for I would share it.
Show me your compassion,
for I would copy it.
Show me your goodness,
for I would acknowledge it.
Show me your power,
for I would trust it.
Show me your grace,
for I would celebrate it.
Show me your peace,
for I would I imbibe it.
Show me more of who and what you are,
for I would know,
and love,
and serve you better,
in the name of the one who knew,
and loved,
and served you completely.
