The following, taken from Amazon or the Kevin Mayhew website, are reviews of just some of my books:
Of A Most Amazing Man (three volumes: Year A, Year B, Year C)
- This is absolutely a godsend to anyone preparing services. Truly inspiring.
Gives much food for thought. Have used this as inspiration for full services. - Nick Fawcett at his best and a resource that I’m sure anyone leading worship or home groups etc. will find invaluable.
- Marvellous; can’t think what I did without it. Would fully recommend it to anyone preparing services.
- Nick is a truly inspired writer and his works greatly enhance our leading of worship. Will be very well used in North Norfolk.
- As with all Nick Fawcett, it’s invaluable to those who have to prepare services.
Of Worship Through the Seasons
- Really great resource for services. Used in conjunction with other Nick Fawcett material; truly awesome.
- Anything Nick Fawcett writes seems to be right on my wavelength and this book is the same.
- This is a really good spiritual aid. It is so versatile; can used both as a personal daily reading book or for sharing in a worship service. The content sparks thoughts to enhance sermons, and is one of the best seasonal books I have had.
Of Prayers for All Seasons (two volumes: Book 1 and Book 2)
- An excellent resource for all who are involved in any form of service planning or whenever prayers are required. Nick Fawcett brings a fresh approach to a host of prayers covering all the main church festivals and special days. Although the book is not cheap, it is worth every penny and is a must for those requiring inspiration for worship.
- Not a cheap book, but worth every penny. Lots of excellent prayers for every occasion.
- I bought this as a friend who has a copy and uses it frequently lent it to me. I just had to have a copy of my own! A wonderful range of prayers, covering all topics, and general. Nothing overly formal and stilted. Very useful for so many occasions, but I’ve not yet found a Nick Fawcett book I’ve not liked.
- I would recommend this book to any/all of my Christian friends. My husband and I are using it together as a daily devotional book. The points raised each day are so thought provoking.
- This is a useful book if you want to pray every day or want to read something from the Bible. It is an additional benefit if you are on the Alpha Course or have participated in the past.
- Excellent book. Worth every penny. A must buy.
- Fabulous, love this book!
- This man is a genius; a great little read and prayer to start the day, every day.
- This daily meditation book includes all elements for personal reflection containing a Bible passage, reflection, prayers and a personal challenging thought, all brought together by Nick’s down-to-earth writing.
- Excellent daily reading book. Challenging and informative.
- Excellent book, accessible, easy to digest but also challeging. Very helpful to read first thing on a morning , perfect.
Of No Ordinary Man (two volumes: Book 1 and Book 2)
- This is an amazing book, full of terrific meditations and ideas for quiet days. I highly recommend it.
- A mind-blowing book – giving a different and realistic view of Christ. I would recommend to anyone, not necessarily a Christian. Worth every penny.
- An amazing book – provokes insight and understanding. Just wish I could afford Book 1.
- In approaching well-known stories from a different perspective it is thought provoking and help us to enter into, and become part of, those stories for ourselves.
- Excellent book would recommend it for personal reflection and use in worship. Found it very inspirational.
- Nick Fawcett, what more can I say? Excellent book.
- A very useful book, giving more “personal” sides to many of the Bible stories. A great tool for Worship Leaders.
- The book contains everything our chapel needed to help with the services we had to prepare ourselves, from opening prayers to closing hymns.
Of The Teacher
- Highly recommended for devotional reading.
- Nick Fawcett’s prayers and writings are always stimulating and challenging on many different levels and The Teacher is no exception. This simple guide to daily life draws you in and enables you to engage with the short stories while recognising so many situations you have encountered and some you would rather not! I recommend it to those of faith and none, as there is something in this small handy volume for everyone. (From General André Cox of the Salvation Army)
- All of us need guidance in life and many seek for wisdom and understanding. There is much truth to be discovered in the wisdom writings of Scripture. In this book, Nick helps us to ponder on the truth to be located within those wisdom writings as we seek the One who is the source of all wisdom and allow God to be our teacher. As you read this book, may your reflections take you to the deep places of heart and mind as you explore the full dimension of who God is. (From Revd Loraine N. Mellor, Methodist President 2017-18)
Of Poems to Help You Pray
This book is brilliant for individual prayer or for use when leading worship. Very helpful on bereavement. Buy it today.
Of Spot the Difference: A Group Study Course for Lent
Excellent range of activities to trigger discussion. All Bible references are fully quoted which makes for less interruption in the study, though that is not to stop you looking up more references if you wish to extend your exploration. Prayers and readings and activities make for a lot of choice of programme to suit the needs of the individual group. It is easy to tailor for the purpose with several different approaches possible to ring the changes at each meeting. Easy to lead for a less experienced group leader. Really earths our faith into the reality of living today. Being a Christian is not a lifestyle choice but it is a way of life, and our reason for being. This programme encourages us to build our relationship with God, love each other in a selfless, caring way Jesus showed us, and to share that way of life with all we encounter.
Of Living with Loss: Poems to Inspire (CD version)
This is an excellent little book. I am a great fan of Nick Fawcett. He writes from the heart. He seems to have just the right words for any given situation, and this comes through in this little book, which would make a comforting gift for anyone who has just been bereaved.
Of Daily Advent Reflections
Nick Fawcett is an internationally renowned Christian author with many books to his name. His books of reflections and meditations are, I think, the best. This is compelling reading and a wonderful handbook for anyone of Christian belief.
Of Celebrating Christingle
Ever year I tend to get the job of arranging the Church Christingle Service and every year I struggle. But not this year! Celebrating Christingle is the perfect book, full of really helpful worship suggestions.
Of Are You Listening? I bought it as a gift for a friend who had seen my copy which I have used extensively. He is delighted.
Of Collected Intercessions
We were finding it increasingly difficult to find prayers for own arrangement services, so I purchased this and other Nick Fawcett books after our local preachers recommended them. They are well worth it and have lots of prayers for all types of occasions.
Of Getting it Across: One Hundred Talks for Family Worship
Nick Fawcett always produces literature that can help us Methodist Local Preachers put things across to our congregations and even holiday clubs etc. I’ve got quite a few of Nick’s books and they are always helpful.
Of A Calendar of Classic Prayer
Very useful for additional prayers linked to a topic in church services. I also like the historical explanations about the writer – they bring it alive.
Of Forgiving and Forgetting: A Group Study Course for Advent
Just what we needed for the Church Advent course. Contains four sections with commentary, suggested readings, discussion points, and opening and closing prayers.
Of Selected Reflections for Every Book of the Bible
Good for personal devotions, Also very good for when we have to arrange our own services in church. Very thoughtful and written in an easily accessible style.
