Here’s another Celtic-style prayer I wrote shortly before I was taken ill, a couple of months ago. It aims to capture something of the awesome majesty and otherness of God, but also the blessings he longs to impart to us all.
Open your heart to the one who is before all,
and you will be enthralled.
Open your heart to the one who is beyond all,
and you will be thrilled.
Open your heart to the one who is within all,
and you will be uplifted.
Open your heart to the one who is over all,
and you will be challenged.
Open your heart to the one who endures after all,
and you will be inspired.
Open your heart to the one who seeks peace for all,
and you will be stilled.
Open your heart to the one who shapes all,
and you will be captivated.
Open your heart to the one who loves all,
and you will be embraced.
Open your heart to the one who fills all,
and you will be enriched.
Open your heart to the one who is all in all,
and you will be blessed beyond measure.
Amen.
Utterly beautiful. I have only just discovered your work Nick and I really appreciate all that you share. Fran
