Living God,
despite the glitz, bustle, hype and expense,
Christmas proves a let-down for many,
promising much yet delivering little.
Awaken the hearts of all to the glorious surprise at its heart –
the wonder of your Son,
born in a stable
and laid in a manger,
your Word made flesh,
your love incarnate –
a gift beyond price that will never disappoint.
