As the situation in Ukraine worsens, and the number of casualties and dead begins to rise, here’s another prayer for that country’s people, asking for God’s help in the desperate plight in which they find themselves.
A prayer for the people of Ukraine
To have your country attacked by foreign forces,
invaded,
overwhelmed,
Lord, we can scarcely imagine the trauma.
Bring help.
Bring hope.
To be bombarded by tanks,
war planes,
rockets,
shells,
Lord, we can scarcely imagine the terror.
Bring help.
Bring hope.
To have your towns and cities besieged,
your way of life threatened,
your loved ones in danger,
Lord, we can scarcely imagine the dread.
Bring help.
Bring hope.
To have your world turned upside down,
your future swept away,
all that is loved and familiar put in doubt,
Lord, we can scarcely imagine the pain.
Bring help.
Bring hope.
To feel abandoned,
alone,
powerless to resist the might of the enemy,
up against impossible odds,
Lord, we can scarcely imagine the despair.
Bring help.
Bring hope.
To lose loved ones,
family, friends and colleagues;
to be maimed,
injured,
killed;
Lord, we can scarcely imagine the suffering.
Bring help.
Bring hope.
To the people of Ukraine in this time of need,
this time of crisis,
this time of tyranny,
this time of darkness,
