Well, I’ve taken the plunge and gone for the non-combination option of treatment. Interestingly, my consultant felt it was the wisest choice, as did everyone else I spoke to. She’s very aware that any infection I pick up at the moment could prove fatal, whereas this option is rather more gentle. I start the treatment next Tuesday, preceded by masses of pre-meds and followed by further post-meds. Nasty reactions to the first injection are quite common, so I’ll need to stay in hospital afterwards, the first time, for six hours to ensure I seem okay. Happily, the injections will be given to me at home by a nurse, and they get progressively fewer as time goes by, provided they continue to work. It could be a tough couple of weeks, but hopefully, once they start to kick in, I should soon feel much better. Thank you all once again for the caring and prayerful support.
Hi Nick,
I’m pleased you are comfortable with your decision. My prayers now will be for you on Tuesday, hope all goes well
