The monetheistic Baha’i faith, started in the nineteenth century, may be little known, and have relatively few followers compared to the world’s major religions, but there is within it often found a great depth of spirituality. Take the following. A Baha’i prayer of trust, it’s theme is the peace of mind we can enjoy knowing that whatever we face, we trust God to lead, protect, support and love us. To that, whatever our faith, we can only say a loud ‘Amen!’
O God,
refresh and gladden my spirit,
purify my heart,
illumine my powers.
I lay all my affairs in your hands.
You are my guide and my refuge.
I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved;
I will be a happy and joyful being.
O God, I will no longer be full of anxiety,
nor will I let trouble harass me.
I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.
O God, you are more friend to me than I am to myself.
I dedicate myself to you, O Lord.
Amen.

Amen! This speaks to me in every line.
Lovely words, aren’t they.
