Lord Jesus Christ,
born in Bethlehem,
come afresh to our world today –
to our towns and cities,
our fractured communities,
our divided nations,
our bleeding planet.
Lord Jesus,
born in a stable,
come afresh to the poor and homeless,
the disenfranchised,
the weak and vulnerable,
the outcast, oppressed and exploited.
Lord Jesus,
born to suffer and die,
come afresh to those who are sick,
those in pain,
those facing death,
those who mourn loved ones.
Lord Jesus Christ,
born in ages past,
be born in us today.
Amen.
