In our troubled and divided world, if there’s one thing we long and pray for it is surely peace: an end to the suspicion and conflict that so often divides person from person, nation from nation, and culture from culture. That’s the theme of the following little prayer, taken from my book The Animal Lover’s Daily Prayer Book.
Grant not just peace, Lord,
but reconciliation in our world,
an end to all that divides and destroys,
so that those previously estranged
may come together,
shoulder to shoulder,
heart to heart.
Amen.
